We have a few convenient options to ensure you find a spot quickly:
Our Shared Lot: We have a shared parking lot located approximately one block away from the theater.
Parking Passes: There are 50 spots available in this lot. You can purchase individual parking passes directly from our website for $2 per spot, or event hosts can prepay for the entire lot (50 spots for $100) to distribute to guests.
Sunday Note: Please be aware that the parking lot is not available until after 1:00 PM on Sundays.
Street Parking: If the lot is full or your party exceeds 50 vehicles, limited street parking is available throughout the neighborhood.
Valet: For larger events, valet services can be arranged for an additional cost.
Pro Tip: We recommend purchasing your parking pass online in advance to guarantee a spot. If you are looking for a nearby landmark, we are located about one mile southwest of downtown St. Paul, near the old Schmidt Brewery.
The North Garden Theater shares a nearby parking lot - about a block and a half away. We are allowed 50 parking places. To park in the lot, a parker must have a voucher or receipt proof that they paid for a parking spot. Parking can be purchased for $2 a spot from our website at www.northgardentheater.com/parking. You as the renter can pre-purchase the 50 spots and give out the parking vouchers via one of methods:
1. You can instruct your guests to pick up a parking voucher from our weather-proof document holder attached by the entrance to the parking lot on the inside of the chain link fence. It will be behind the red sign that says "North Garden Theater Parking." Your choice of this method must be communicated ahead of time so we can put the vouchers in the document holder. Check out this link for more information on this method: www.northgardentheater.com/vouchers
2. We can send you a PDF of the parking voucher and you can figure out how to get them into the hands of your guests. Remember, we are limited to 50 spots. Please do not hand out more than 50 vouchers.
3. We can set up a special password protected page on our website that will allow your guests to print up the voucher themselves and place it in their own dashboards. Please do not invite more than 50 guests to use this method.
4. You can have a volunteer posted at the entry way of the parking lot to hand out vouchers to your guests. We can also provide this person for a fee of $50.
More information can be found on our parking page.
We offer a managed parking option for our guests in a shared lot located about one block away. Here is how the voucher system works for both hosts and individual guests:
For Hosts (Pre-paid Option):
Distribution: The easiest way to get vouchers to your guests is to have us place them in our weather-proof document box. This is attached to the chain-link fence on the right side as you pull into the lot.
Capacity: Guests can simply grab a voucher as they arrive. Please note that once the document box is empty, all pre-paid vouchers have been claimed. While there may still be physical open spaces in the lot, those are not part of the theater’s allocated spots once the 50 vouchers are gone.
For Individual Guests (Self-pay Option):
Purchasing: Guests can purchase a parking pass directly through our website.
Pick-up: If you have trouble printing your voucher at home, you can pick one up at the theater bar once you arrive.
Important Reminders:
Sundays: The lot is not available before 1:00 PM.
Availability: Parking is always subject to availability. If the lot is full or all vouchers have been claimed, street parking is available in the surrounding neighborhood.
Yes, but please note that there are no designated accessible parking spots in our private lot. Because the lot is located a block and a half away, we strongly recommend the following:
Primary Drop-Off Zone: The most accessible way to enter the theater is via the street corner directly by the barbershop (to the right of the North Garden Theater).
Level Access: This corner features a sidewalk cutout that provides a seamless, step-free transition from the street to the sidewalk for those using wheelchairs or walkers.
Pro Tip for Drivers: We suggest dropping off guests with mobility needs at the barbershop corner first before proceeding to the parking lot.
Street Parking: If the driver requires accessible parking, you may find designated street spots closer to the theater entrance than our private lot.
Step-Free Entry: Once on the sidewalk, the path to our front doors and the entirety of the theater interior is fully accessible with no stairs required.
The North Garden Theater is conveniently located on major Metro Transit lines, making it easy to reach without a car.
Primary Bus Route: Route 54 runs directly along West 7th Street. This is a "limited-stop" route that provides fast service between Downtown St. Paul, MSP Airport, and the Mall of America.
Closest Stops:
Eastbound (from Airport/Highland Park): Get off at 7th St W & Jefferson Ave.
Westbound (from Downtown St. Paul): Get off at 7th St W & Randolph Ave.

Absolutely. We highly encourage using rideshare services so you can relax and enjoy your evening without worrying about parking or responsible driving.
Drop-off & Pick-up Point: Set your destination to 929 West 7th St.. For the safest and most convenient experience, ask your driver to pull over directly in front of our main entrance.
