Saying Goodbye to Social Media

Writer: Ryan NorthRyan North

Freedom from the grasp of Social Media!
Freedom from the grasp of Social Media!

"Imagine a world where 'likes' don't define your worth, where genuine connections take center stage. We are creating that world. At the North Garden Theater, we've made the decision to deactivate our social media accounts, including Facebook and Instagram. We've observed that social media can often contribute to a culture of comparison, anxiety, and distraction. We believe that by stepping away from these platforms, we can better focus on nurturing genuine relationships with our clients and cultivating a more meaningful and fulfilling experience for everyone involved. We encourage others to consider the impact of social media on their own lives and explore alternative ways to connect and engage with the world. If you are interested in the North Garden Theater, please connect with us directly!

"The fear was real – missing out, losing touch. But the weight of social media's negativity became too heavy. Now, we're embracing the quiet, and eagerly exploring the joy of connecting in real, tangible ways." - Ryan North, Co-owner, North Garden Theater

Taking the Step Yourself

If you're feeling inspired to take a break from social media, here are a few tips:

  • Start small: Consider a social media detox for a weekend or a week.

  • Set boundaries: Limit your daily screen time and designate social media-free zones in your home.

  • Find alternative activities: Explore hobbies, spend time in nature, and connect with friends and family in person.

  • Deactivate or delete: If you feel ready, deactivate your accounts temporarily or delete them permanently.

  • Communicate with your friends and family: Let them know how to keep in contact with you.

We believe that by prioritizing real connections and mindful living, we can create a more fulfilling and meaningful world. We hope you'll join us on this journey. We look forward to connecting with you in more authentic ways!
